Changes to WEBroker 2014

We have kept WEBroker 2014 as close to last year's policy as possible, however there are a few important changes that we would like to draw your attention to:

  • New insurers - This policy is arranged by Voyager Insurance Services Ltd. Sections 1-12 & 14-20 are underwritten by PTI Insurance Company Ltd. PTI Insurance Company Ltd are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) in Gibraltar and are members of the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). Section 13 - holiday financial protection is provided by International Passenger Protection Limited and underwritten by Lloyds Syndicates.
  • Dedicated claims and emergency service teams - Intana Assist. Service level agreements will ensure that claims are handled in a fast and efficient manner.
  • Longstay maximum duration increased to 18 months.
  • For longstay policies the excess is increased to £100 for medical claims only.
  • Healthcheck continue to provide the medical screening under the scheme ensuring continuity and consistency of service. There have been some necessary increases in the additional premiums charged, in particular in respect of older travellers and those travelling for longer periods.

    Please remember that you should make sure your customers read the questions relating to health carefully. Only those customers who need to contact Healthcheck because they answer Yes to one or more of the questions should be referred to the service as all customers screened will be charged an additional premium to cover their condition. It is not possible to choose to exclude cover for declared conditions and the additional premium must be paid if they have chosen to have their conditions screened many customers prefer to contact screening, of course, to be certain that their conditions are covered but they must understand that they are then liable to pay the additional premium.
  • Changes to the activities options Leisure, Action & Action plus, as follows;
    1. Action & Action Plus options are not available as standard on longstay policies. Cover may be available for short term participation, but only if declared to and confirmed by us in writing.
    2. Canoeing (grades 4-5), Kayaking (grades 4-5) & Marathon running have moved to Action.
    3. Cat-skiing has moved to Action Plus.
    4. Under Leisure, Motorcycling is only applicable on road, provided you hold an appropriate full licence and are wearing a helmet and is covered for a maximum period of 14 days any one trip.
    5. Parachuting (static line & sky diving) & Paragliding have been removed from Action. These activities are now subject to referral.
    6. Glacier walking above 4000m, Hiking/trekking/walking above 4000m, High diving, Motorcycling (off road), Mountain biking including amateur competitions & Parachuting/sky diving have been removed from Action Plus. These activities are now subject to referral.
